Spring Break!

That's right, this week has been the infamous spring break. I spent it sitting on my couch, in my car, and at my sisters house and best friends house. Oh and the dentist. I hate the dentist, but they love me. Long story short my teeth are crap and I've been paying for it ever since.

So I've been having some pain in my one tooth, but the weird part is that I got a root canal on it back in 2008. They told me that the tooth was dead and I'd never have to worry about feeling pain in it again. Lies and deceit! I ended up getting another root canal back in 2008 on a bottom molar, but unfortunately that tooth got severely infected and ended up having to be pulled last year. So as anyone can imagine, I was extremely nervous to go to the dentist for fear of losing another tooth.

First of all, I check in and my dentist's receptionist informs me that I'm a new patient. I look at the lady and tell her no, I've been coming here for quite a while now. She looks at me and told me no, I'm in the computer as a new patient. OK, no big deal. They pulled my file and all was fixed. Then came the, "Any changes to your insurance?" No, actually, I still don't have insurance. She then proceeded to inform everyone that I came in contact with that I did not have insurance in a hush-hush tone.

I finally meet with the dentist, she takes three X-rays of my tooth, and informs me I could have an infection. But it could also be an inflamed sinus, either way she refused to do anything and told me I needed to go to the specialist. I paid $100 to be told to go somewhere else.

I went to the specialist the next day, where they once again took an X-ray and told me yes I do indeed have an infection. It's only in one root out of three though, so they can fix it! But I have to wait to see the actual man who performed the root canal because he can decided whether I will be getting another root canal or an apicoectomy. So, there's $130 to be told I need to come back. They did give me some hefty antibiotics though, 875mg of amoxicillin.

I got four X-rays in 24 hours. That can't be good for my brain, can it?

Hi, just want to say congratulations you have won the Versatile Blogger Award! If you want to pick it up, just go to my blog and it's yours :)
Btw I know how you are feeling with the teeth-thing, luckily I only had to use about 30 min, to be told to come back another time.

Oh hell, you know that I can sympathize with the pariah status of having no insurance. I hope that you are feeling better soon, darlin'.~

I'm sure your brain is fine, but that was a really nasty hit to the wallet!

Nellie - Thank you for the award!

Katsidhe - Thanks for the support. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about not having insurance, sure it helps but it's livable without it.

Word Nerd - So far no side effects on the brain :)
