An Extremely Personalized Necklace

Today's adventure included working with (more like scaring) potential freshman. We made our DNA visible to the naked eye. It sounds impressive at first, but then we all realized we did the same thing with strawberry DNA in freshman biology lab. Not exactly the type of "cool stuff" potential freshman like to see juniors and seniors doing in a biochemistry lab. I thought it was pretty nifty though, I got to save my DNA in a necklace!
That white glob down at the bottom is everything that makes me, me :)

Taking a picture of that was harder than I thought it would be. That's the most visible I could make my DNA, unfortunately.

Definitely had an evil scientist moment when I saw all the left over DNA around the lab. It was inactive, but still. I could dream...

Now you have a new necklace to wear!! I will still try to get you a new crystal heart though! But this one is very cool...if a bit creepy. :~)
